For employers

Hire a Finance Student

Anyone looking for an accounting profile in 2026 knows how hard those profiles have become to find. Hiring a finance student is a practical solution in the meantime.

Hiring financial support in 2026

You bring in extra hands for invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, booking purchase invoices, filing supporting documents and preparing the VAT return.

The student works under the guidance of your own accountant or finance manager. That way, your permanent staff keep time free for the work that really needs their signature. We handle all the administration: the student contract, the Dimona declaration, payroll and occupational accident insurance.

Why us

Why do companies choose finance students?

Available by the hour

You only pay for the hours worked. Scale up for the month-end close or VAT period, and scale back down in a quiet week. Flexible contracts are all you need.

Screened in advance

Our recruiters assess every candidate on accuracy, discretion and the right field of study. You receive profiles that are comfortable working with numbers and confidential data.

Short waiting times

We quickly propose candidates from our pool. That saves you weeks of searching in a job market where finance profiles are hard to find.

Fully taken care of

Contracts, Dimona, payroll, contributions and insurance all go through us. You sign the assignment and receive one invoice. That's it.

Administrative and finance assistant

Preparing files, transferring data into your accounting software, checking for missing documents and preparing reports for your accountant or auditor.

Payroll and HR administration support

Collecting timesheets, checking hours and keeping personnel files up to date. Supporting work alongside your payroll advisor or social secretariat, always under supervision.

How it works

How does hiring a finance student work?

  1. Request

During an introductory meeting, we discuss your situation, map out what you need and advise you on a suitable, flexible student deployment.

  2. Selection and matching

Our recruiters carefully screen for skills and motivation and select suitable students from our pool.

  3. Match and quick start

Within a few days, we propose flexible candidates, and thanks to our pool, students can often start the same week.

  4. Ongoing support

Our students are well prepared, you decide how they are onboarded, and we support you throughout with planning, replacements and scaling up.

What are the rules for student work in 2026?

Since 2025, students can work 650 hours per calendar year at a reduced solidarity contribution of 8.13 percent instead of the regular social security contributions, according to the NSSO (RSZ). Of that 8.13 percent, the employer pays 5.42 percent and the student 2.71 percent. If the student works beyond the quota, regular contributions of 13.07 percent apply to the student from the 651st hour.

The minimum age for a student worker is 15 for light, non-industrial work, as set out in the Royal Decree of 19 April 2026. Working with a student contract also requires a Dimona declaration before the first working day. We submit that declaration for you and monitor each student's hour quota.

Finance students for your organisation

Financial work in a company comes in waves. The month-end close, the VAT return, the year-end close and the tax season all call for far more hands at short notice than the weeks in between. That rhythm suits flexible hiring better than a permanent hire, and temporary workers with an accounting background are scarce.

A student from a finance-related programme fills that gap. The student takes over the preparatory and repetitive work, while your accountant keeps handling the review, the closing and the advice. That way you stay in control of both quality and turnaround time, even in the weeks when everything has to happen at once.

From one-off assignment to long-term partnership

Many partnerships start with one busy period and then grow into a fixed arrangement every quarter. If a student turns out to be a good fit, you can hire them permanently. For a finance team, that's a real advantage: you know the person, they know your software and your files, and the onboarding time has already been paid for.

Pool management by Recruit a Student

With pool management, we build a steady group of students who know your organisation, your accounting software and the way you work. That group stays available and comes back at every peak. You save yourself searching, screening and onboarding new people every quarter.

For a finance department, that matters even more. Confidentiality and knowledge of your files take time to build. A steady pool means that in October, the student already knows where to find the documents they worked on in July. We keep track of availability, planning and replacements.
