Cookie statement

What is a cookie?

We use cookies on this website. A cookie is a small, simple file that is sent along with the pages of this website [and/or Flash applications] and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer. The information stored in it can be sent back to our servers on a subsequent visit.

Use of permanent cookies

A permanent cookie allows us to recognise you when you visit our website again. The website can then be set up especially for your preferences. It also allows us to remember that you have given permission for cookies to be placed. You therefore do not have to repeat your preferences every time, which saves you time and makes our website more pleasant to use. You can delete permanent cookies through the settings of your browser.

Use of session cookies

A session cookie allows us to see which parts of the website you have viewed during this visit. That way we can tailor our service as far as possible to how our visitors browse. These cookies are deleted automatically as soon as you close your web browser.

Our own tracking cookies

With your permission we place a cookie on your equipment, which can be called up as soon as you visit a website in our network. This allows us to learn that, besides our website, you have also visited the other website or websites in our network. The profile built up in this way is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address or similar details; it serves only to tailor advertisements to your profile, so that they are as relevant to you as possible.

Google Analytics

Through our website a cookie is placed by the American company Google, as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to track and obtain reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or in so far as third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence over this. We have allowed Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

The information Google collects is anonymised as far as possible. Your IP address is expressly not passed on. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google states that it adheres to the Privacy Shield principles and participates in the Privacy Shield programme of the United States Department of Commerce. This means that there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

Social media buttons

Our website contains buttons that let you promote (“like”) or share (“tweet”) web pages on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from Facebook and Twitter themselves. This code places cookies. We have no influence over this. Please read the privacy statement of Facebook and of Twitter (which may change regularly) to find out what they do with the (personal) data they process through these cookies.

The information they collect is anonymised as far as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn state that they adhere to the Privacy Shield principles and participate in the Privacy Shield programme of the United States Department of Commerce. This means that there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

Lumina

Recruit a Student works with Lumina in the field of personality tests. When you complete a Lumina test on behalf of or through Recruit a Student, you automatically give permission for your data to be processed and shared with Recruit a Student and Lumina.

Right of access to, correction of or deletion of your data

You have the right to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data. Please see our contact page for this. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself adequately. Where access to personal data linked to a cookie is concerned, you must send a copy of the cookie in question. You can find it in the settings of your browser.

Switching cookies on and off and deleting them

You can find more information about switching cookies on and off and deleting them in the instructions and/or with the help function of your browser.
