Flexible customer service staff by the hour, right when you need them. We take care of the administration.

Customer service cover with students in 2026

If you want to hire a customer service student, you are looking for someone who stays calm on the phone, writes clearly in chat and thinks along with your customer. Recruit a Student supplies those profiles by the hour: inbound phone support, chat and email support, order follow-up and complaint handling, reception and check-in. You set the shifts, we handle the rest. The student employment contract, the Dimona declaration, payroll and insurance all run through us. You get one point of contact and one invoice, even when three extra students are needed this week.

Why us

Why companies choose Recruit a Student for customer service

Available by the hour

You book exactly the hours you need. When call volume peaks on Monday morning or during a promotion, you scale up flexibly for exactly that period.

Screened in advance

Our recruiters assess phone manner, written language and customer focus. Language skills are tested up front, so a bilingual line is genuinely staffed in both languages.

Short lead times

We work with an active pool, so selection starts straight away. We often present candidates within a few days who can start that same week.

Fully taken care of

Student contract, Dimona, time registration, payroll and insurance run through us. Your team leader keeps time for coaching instead of paperwork.

Our services

Our services: customer service for your business

Inbound phone support

Students who take incoming calls, answer questions and transfer correctly. They work in your own scripts and systems, and handle the first line independently after a short onboarding.

Chat and email support

For webshops and service providers that want to respond faster. Students handle chats and shared mailboxes, keep your brand tone consistent and escalate what goes beyond the first line.

Order follow-up and complaints

Tracking orders, processing returns, chasing carriers and informing customers proactively. Exactly the work that piles up when your permanent team is absorbed by sales.

Reception and check-in

Customer contact at the desk: welcoming visitors, handling files and guiding customers. Among other places, we fill this role at a check-in desk at the airport.

How it works

How hiring customer service students works

  1. Request

In an introductory conversation we discuss your situation, map the need and advise a suitable, flexible deployment of students.

  2. Selection and matching

Our recruiters screen thoroughly on skills and motivation, and select suitable students from our pool.

  3. Match and fast start

Within a few days we present flexible candidates, and thanks to our pool students can often start that same week.

  4. Ongoing support

Our students are well prepared, you decide on the introduction, and we support you continuously with planning, replacement and scaling up.

Student work rules in Belgium in 2026

In 2026 a student may work 650 hours per calendar year at the reduced solidarity contribution of 8.13 percent, according to the NSSO. Of that, 5.42 percent is yours as the employer and 2.71 percent is the student's. Hours beyond the quota fall under ordinary social security contributions. The student employment contract and the Dimona declaration must be in place before the first working day. For light, non-industrial work the minimum age is 15. We monitor these rules for every student.

Customer service staffing for your business

Customer contact comes in waves. A product launch, an outage, a delayed delivery or a promotional week drives your volume up quickly, while your permanent headcount is sized for a normal week. Students absorb exactly that wave, and you add that extra capacity for the weeks you need it.

There is a labour market reason too. Contact centre employee appears on the VDAB list of shortage occupations for 2026. Permanent profiles are therefore hard to find, while students with strong communication and language skills remain available.

From one-off assignment to lasting partnership

You start with one student for a busy period, and it can grow into a steady team that knows your systems and your customers. Step by step, you build a customer service desk that grows with your organisation.

Pool management by Recruit a Student

In customer service, continuity matters a great deal. A student who knows your products, your tone of voice and your ticketing system grows into a full first line. Someone who has to be trained again every week costs you time instead. That is why we build a dedicated pool around your organisation.

That pool consists of students who have worked with you before and remain available. If someone drops out for an exam period or illness, we look for the replacement inside that group, so onboarding time stays short. You share your planning, we fill the shifts and we monitor each student's hours quota. Your staffing follows your volume, and the quality of your customer contact stays consistent.
